After spending the whole day at Universal Studio with the whole family, we decided to try some authentic Korean BBQ in K-town, Los Angeles.
Location: 3465 W 6th St. #C-130 Los Angeles, CA 90020
Location: 3465 W 6th St. #C-130 Los Angeles, CA 90020
We ordered the JUMBO set:
Everything on the L A R G E set (Rib Eye, Marinated Beef Short Ribs, Grilled Bulgogi, Beef Belly, Pork Belly, Spicy Pork Jowl, Spicy Pork Collar.) + Beef Brisket, Top Blade, Seasoned Boneless Short ribs, and Pork Jowl.
What can I say about Quarters KBBQ?
SERVICE: ⭐⭐ out of 5 stars
The service was lacking in customer service training. What I mean about lacking is that they gave us a designated server for our table but we can see that she has a training badge with her name on her name tag. Our server has two tables to attend to; our table and the big group next to us on our table.
We understand that she is occupied most of the time we were there. Nevertheless, she kept on missing our orders and the other items that we wanted to add for our meal. There was this one incident where she was putting the raw meat on the grill while the "meat juice" of the raw meat touch and spilled on to the kimchi pancake. Of course, we let her know right away that the food was cross-contamination and she was frustrated about it and did not want to change our food at first with a new one. Then we kept on waiting on our freshly cooked kimchi pancake, but the food runner of the restaurant kept on missing us/avoiding us thinking we do not need the kimchi pancake because he sees a kimchi pancake in our table. The server did not communicate well with her fellow co-worker about the situation.
Over the course of our meal, we can see that our server's face and body language that she did not want to serve us anymore. Another well-trained waitress had to step up and help her and managed both tables. Let's put it this way, we trusted the other server than our assigned server on our table.
PRICE: ⭐⭐ out of 5 stars
I personally believe that the price of the meal that we had was not worth the price that we paid. I know they are known for the quarter pound portion of all the meats and claimed they are "authentic" Korean BBQ experience but I think they are way too pricey. If you are on a trip with a budget and want to experience Korean BBQ, I will definitely not recommend this place for you. By the way this is not an ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT Korean bbq restaurant.
CLEANLINESS: ⭐⭐⭐ out of 5 stars
Other than the "cross-contamination" incident we had that night, the place was decently clean. When we sat down for the first time on our table, our side dishes, plates, and utensil are already set up. The restroom was decent as well.
LOCATION: ⭐⭐.50 out of 5 stars
We saw that they had a valet parking inside the plaza and we knew they only had a limited parking space inside. So we ended up parking our car across the street in a public parking space building. Also usually valet parking cost more than the usual price of a parking garage. I recommend people to get an Uber or Lyft ride if they want to stay longer around that area. The location is located to a lot of a different kind of Korean Cuisine and some small boutique shops.
AMBIANCE: ⭐⭐⭐.50 out of 5 stars
This restaurant is known to be more alive on the nightlife scene. People who are looking for a place to have a good time with friends or after clubbing scene on the weekend, this is the place to be. The first thing you will see is an open bar on the left side where people order drinks and wait on the right side of the entrance. The restaurant definitely has that low lighting and industrial look concept which makes it more alluring to people to drink and eat.
I will definitely recommend this place for a happy hour with friends and co-workers. However, I will definitely not recommend this place for families with kids under 6 years old because I feel like it's not a kid-friendly space for them to eat there. It is way too loud inside and smokey for kids to be in there.
FOOD QUALITY: ⭐⭐⭐.5 out of 5 stars
To be honest the quality of the meat was in the high-quality range of meat like they claim it will be. However, in my opinion, I tasted better Korean bbq meats. The servers will cook the meat for you on your table and by the way, this is not an all-you-can-eat Korean bbq Restaurant. The cuts of the meats are a quarter of a pound and you can order it by combo or individual.
Hubbybear and I agreed that our favorite dish of them all :
πTOP BLADE (meat) and π
and our least favorite dish of them all :
πMarinated Shortribs (meat)π
Overall: ⭐⭐.5 out of 5 stars
I give them 2 and 1/2 out of 5 stars because I feel like they need a lot of basic training on customer service and the way they handle and diffuse a certain situation. In my personal opinion, this restaurant is way too hyped-up by people who have not tried a lot of Korean bbq restaurant before. Overall, they did not meet my personal expectation of a real deal Korean BBQ restaurant.
Well, that's all for now...
HASTA LA PASTA~!
Until next time,
