2025 #24: Delay but not forgotten🎞⏳️| Mommy date at the Spa 🧖‍♀️

✨️A Well-Deserved Mommy Date: Rest, Relaxation, and Reconnection 🧖‍♀️

Motherhood is a beautiful journey, but let’s be real—it’s also exhausting. Between sleepless nights, toddler energy, and the endless to-do lists, finding time for ourselves can feel nearly impossible. That’s why a mommy date is one of the most rewarding things you can do, especially for new moms and toddler moms.hsju.nyŋ

Last March, my close friend Carol and I decided that we desperately needed a break—an opportunity to recharge, breathe, and take care of ourselves for once. Even though the thought of leaving our babies with our partners tugged at our hearts, we knew we had to. Self-care isn’t selfish—it’s necessary.
So, with that in mind, we booked a Siam Traditional Body Massage at Spa Siam Orchid in San Mateo—a glorious 120-minute escape from our usual chaos. From the moment the session began, we could feel the tension melting away. It was so deeply relaxing that the two hours flew by, leaving us in disbelief that time could move that fast.
After the massage, we were treated to a complimentary cup of herbal tea, which was soothing and warm—a perfect way to wrap up the experience. Next time, I’m definitely trying the hot stone treatment to elevate the relaxation even further.
After our spa session, we headed to a nearby brunch spot to refuel. I indulged in an absolutely delicious pesto soup, while we chatted about life, motherhood, and everything in between. It felt refreshing to talk without interruptions from little voices or tiny hands pulling at us.
To make the day even more special, we took a short stroll around San Mateo Downtown before heading to our scheduled nail appointment.

✨️FINAL THOUGHTS💭

It wasn’t an extravagant outing—it was simple, yet incredibly meaningful. Just being able to catch up, be ourselves, and reconnect outside of the nonstop demands of motherhood felt like a breath of fresh air.
Despite the exhaustion that comes with taking care of little ones, I am grateful that we made time for this. A mommy date is more than just a spa day—it’s a reminder that we are individuals too, beyond our roles as mothers.
If you’re a mom who has been putting off some much-needed self-care, consider this your sign: take the break, book the massage, and enjoy the moment—you deserve it.
