2025 #44: Short greetings before we celebrate (baby boy's 3rd birthday)

🎉 Celebrating Our Toddler’s 3rd Birthday: A Local Getaway Full of Heart

This year, we celebrated our toddler’s 3rd birthday a few days after the actual date—not because we forgot, but because we wanted to do something a little more intentional. Instead of rushing through a weekday celebration, we chose to wait for the weekend and take him on a special getaway. Nothing extravagant, just a sweet escape close to home where we could slow down, soak in the moments, and make memories as a family.

We decided to stay local this time. With everything going on—work schedules, appointments, and the beautiful chaos of parenting—it felt right to keep things simple. And honestly, it turned out to be exactly what we needed. No long drives, no airport stress, just a cozy weekend filled with laughter, snacks, and toddler giggles echoing through the air.

There’s something magical about watching your child experience joy in the little things: a new playground, a hotel bed to jump on, a cup of cold juice in a “grown-up” glass. At three years old, everything is still new, still wondrous. And as parents, we get to witness that wonder up close.

So here are some random snapshots from our weekend—messy hair, sticky fingers, and all. They may not be Pinterest-perfect, but they’re real. They’re ours. And they tell the story of a little boy turning three, surrounded by love, adventure, and the kind of celebration that doesn’t need balloons to feel big.

Happy birthday to our sweet boy. You are growing so fast, and we’re just grateful to grow alongside you. 👨‍👩‍👦🥰
