✨️May Recap: A Month of Journeys, Emotions, and Reflection & Reconnecting🧳✈️
The month of May unfolded as one of the most emotionally and physically intense periods I’ve experienced this year, weaving together profound moments of remembrance, reconnection, and celebration.
It began with a journey close to my heart—a return to the motherland, my hometown of Angeles City, Pampanga. As I mentioned in a previous blog post, this trip was more than just a homecoming; it was a deeply significant mission to bring my father’s ashes back to his birthplace in Pangasinan. The weight of that responsibility sat heavily on my shoulders, yet fulfilling it brought a bittersweet sense of closure. In the process, I was given the precious opportunity to reconnect with extended relatives—some I hadn’t seen in years, others I was meeting for the very first time. Those encounters, filled with shared memories and quiet reflections, deserve their own space, so I’ll be sharing a more detailed account of my time in the Philippines soon.
No sooner had I returned from that long and emotionally charged trip than I found myself embarking on yet another journey—this time with my husband’s family. We came together to celebrate both my husband’s and my sister-in-law’s birthdays, which fall just days apart. The gathering was lively and filled with love, laughter, and the joy of shared traditions. However, I’d be lying if I said the experience wasn’t exhausting. Two back-to-back trips, each meaningful in its own way, left me physically drained, reminding me of the toll that travel—especially when fueled by deep emotions—can take on the body.
While I’m grateful that I managed to stay healthy throughout all the travel, I’ve been dealing with a persistent pain in my right foot, a nagging reminder that rest is just as essential as movement. It has become a quiet signal—an urging to slow down, to listen to what my body needs after such a whirlwind of experiences.
✨️FINAL THOUGHTS 🥹🫂
May has been a month of profound reconnection, remembrance, and celebration. It has reminded me of the importance of honoring both the past and the present, of cherishing the moments that shape us, and of being mindful enough to give myself the rest and care I need to move forward.
